Italian Door Knocker

This is one of my photos from Italy, with some Photoshop brushes and filters added.  It's one of my favorites.

More Boatyard Art

I couldn't resist showing you more boatyard art.  I found this board, used as a drop cloth for painting, leaning up against a fence.  Art is everywhere, isn't it?

Boatyard Art

I love this wall at the boatyard where we haul our boat out for work.  How many years have boaters written the names of their beloved boats on this wall?   It is a work of art for a private audience.

Under my feet

I read this quote today from Madeline L'Engle,"It's a good thing to have all the props pulled out from under us occasionally.  It gives us some sense of what is rock under our feet, and what is sand.

Uh huh, totally true.  I had the props pulled out from under me last year with a diagnosis of stage 3 ovarian cancer.  You definitely find out what's important to you and who thinks you are important.
Things are looking good now and I have hopes of being around for  a while yet, God willing.

Hello Sweet Baby

This little guy is one of the reasons I haven't been posting lately.  He is my first grandchild; the son of my son.  I call him Sweet William.
I made this little welcome card using Ali Edwards' Baby Word Art 01 from Designer Digitals.

This is the amazing Venetian glass heart that my darling friend, Mary Ann, brought me from Italy.  The ribbon is silk dupioni that I got at Ornamentea in Raleigh.  Love it, love it, love it!

Ribbon Necklace

I wanted to use ribbon for a necklace and found this gorgeous brown silk at Sam Flax recently.  Soon after, I saw this necklace on Cynthia Deis' blog.  I knew I would soon be visiting her shop in Raleigh, so I collected bits and baubles and took off for North Carolina.  I love wearing this one; it makes me feel very bohemian.  If anyone has tips on taking good photos of jewelry, please let me know.  My pics are not the best.  Thanks for looking.
